Mitchel comes from a family that has produced a lot of plant-based quirk users. Unfortunately, the most notable of these turned out to be prolific villains, giving the family an unsavory reputation in recent years. Mitchel was scouted by the Shinzo initiative, which helps grant academy sponsorship to applicants displaying less 'virtuous' quirks, and he aims to use the opportunity to fix the damage his relatives caused.
The combination of his family's notoriety, piercing eyes, and height lend Mitchel a certain threatening aura, however unintentional. He's definitely not above using this intimidation to his advantage, though it's usually in defense of the few friends he's made. Any attempt he makes to be genuinely nice usually comes off as sinister or suspicious, to the point where his friends have practically made a game of it.
