Daily Sketch (x3): Samia, Gregor, and Haji Laugh

Some more Haji doodles tonight, this time featuring some quick colored doodles of his parents.

Samia
Haji’s protective and sharp-tonged mother. Quite wild in her youth, Samia rebelled against her conservative family by running away and eloping with a charming Greek boy when she was just a teenager. She now faces some rather potent karmic retribution in the form of her eldest son, who currently wanders throughout America with nary a word for weeks and even months at a time. She’s stubbornly convinced that he inherited this behavior from his father, and refuses to admit otherwise. She speaks almost exclusively in Greek and some broken English, but is known to go on full-blown tirades of furious Arabic whenever she’s yelling at Haji over the phone. She’s very passionate about music, and was the one who taught Haji to play stringed instruments when he was younger.

Gregor

Haji’s amorous and good-humored father. He lives for fine wine, food, and women, and spent his youth philandering about the Mediterranean before finally falling for an Egyptian beauty he met on vacation. He stole her away to Athens, where he quickly found himself starting a family, as well as a successful chain of restaurants. He eventually caught the attention of some American entrepreneurs, and was offered the chance to expand his business overseas, so he had his family moved to the USA. He’s always been very lenient towards Haji, and, unlike his wife, willingly admits to just how much he takes after him. He fully supports his son’s decision to travel, and is usually intervening in the arguments Haji has with his mother.
