I wound up forgetting my beloved Rubik's Cube at my mother's house the last time I visited, so I've been playing a lot of Professor Layton games to get my puzzle fix. Gloriously silly and dorky games that take place in a ludicrous reality in which everything- and I do mean EVERYTHING- is resolved via random puzzles.
Can't find your car trip's destination? Logic puzzle.
Need to activate an elevator? Pictograph puzzle.
Cornered by gun-toting thugs sent by your enemy? Spontaneously take apart a slot machine and rebuild it into a coin-spitting rail gun with a jigsaw puzzle.
I swear to god I'm not making this up.
